Board

How it works

Three boards. One auction.

BidMacApps is an open auction for attention. Three boards, three different signals — here’s exactly how each one works, in plain terms.

Top — lifetime bids

Developers bid real money for position. The board ranks apps by lifetime bid total: every dollar ever bid counts forever. To take a position, a developer must outbid it by at least $1. Rank #1 is the most contested spot on the site.

Hot — last 24 hours

Hot ignores lifetime totals. It surfaces apps with the most bid activity and rank movement in the last 24 hours — who is fighting hardest right now. A small app can out-heat a giant by simply bidding more today.

Trending — earned, never bought

Trending ranks by organic views and clicks. Money cannot move this board — a bid will never make an app trend. It's the honest signal for what Mac users are actually checking out.

The fine print

  • No review queue — your app goes live the instant your first bid is paid.
  • Bids are lifetime: a bid adds to an app’s total permanently and never decays — ranks only change when someone outbids.
  • Minimum first bid is $1 — to take any occupied position, exceed its current total by at least $1.
  • All positions are public. Every dollar of every app’s total is visible on its page.
  • Outbid on Top? You keep your position until someone pays more — your dashboard flags it the moment it happens, with one-click reclaim pricing.
